This hotel exceeded my expectations in every way. the value for money is exceptional - I couldn't believe how nice it was for the price. Secondly, the attention to detail is superb. The owners have thought of everything, from the well-stocked kitchen cupboard to the clean and comfortable rooms with all the self-catering supplies you could need. Lastly, the location is perfect. It's just outside the town centre, close to pubs and restaurants, and even near the Golden Gate National Park.
All was great - nothing to complain about.

Whether traveling by car or other means, this place is the perfect spot to stay for a while. the location is close to the village, but still peaceful and quiet. the attention to detail is apparent in everything from the cozy rooms to the warm underfloor heating and electric blankets. the staff are friendly, attentive, and concerned. Enjoy a picnic breakfast outdoors, or take your little ones to visit the chickens at the coop.
The grounds, though beautiful, do not offer any mountain views from the private cottages.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this hotel and I must say, I was pleasantly surprised. the attention to detail was impressive. From the beautiful finishings in the well-equipped rooms to the lovely personal touches, everything was just perfect. Secondly, the location of this hotel is ideal. It is conveniently close to all the pubs, restaurants, and attractions in the area, making it easy to explore the Western Cape. Lastly, the staff at the hotel were friendly and accommodating, ensuring that my stay was comfortable and enjoyable.
The only thing that could be improved at this hotel is the towel quality. Otherwise, everything was perfect!

The place was located far away from the main street, which was great because it was peaceful and quiet at night. the garden was well-groomed, and the veranda was a nice spot to relax. Another thing I enjoyed was how friendly the hosts are; they even let us participate in feeding the chickens and made us feel welcomed.
There was no TV in the room, which was a bummer because it was too cold to go outside at night. there was no bell at the entrance, so we had a hard time notifying the hosts of our arrival.

Upon arrival, I received a friendly and warm welcome. The hotel staff offered great recommendations for hiking trails within walking distance. The room was well equipped with a kettle, microwave, toaster, crockery, cutlery, cooking utensils and braai facilities. Additionally, the hotel facilities were clean and of high quality.
Everything great.

We were pleasantly surprised by Woodlands Retreat. The cozy room may not have been huge, but the epic deck and breathtaking garden views more than made up for it. The attention to detail from our host was exceptional, ensuring our every need was taken care of. We felt both looked after and independent during our stay. The garden was beautifully maintained, a testament to the love and passion put into it. The little kitchenette allowed us to make drinks and tidy up easily. The cleanliness and thought put into every little detail exceeded our expectations. For the price we paid, we couldn't have asked for a nicer experience. Despite the lack of a comfortable chair in the room, the garden set outside provided a wonderful alternative. The owners were warm and friendly, going above and beyond to include our children in special activities like feeding the chickens. The only drawback was the absence of a TV in the room, which would have been a great entertainment feature for the kids during the chilly evenings. However, overall I highly recommend this cozy and wonderful accommodations.
